Thanks to everyone who offered the loan of a lawnmower. The Mower People at Scotsdales were able to fix it, so no loan is needed

If only we had a hairdryer I would rush out and blow dry the lawn for you.

Glad they could fix it, and good luck for dry weather. Sadly our grass is still full of all the pots moved by builders. I didnt know we had so many.

This happened to me recently. My mother's vacuum cleaner stopped working. I almost took it apart to try to find the problem and I found the reset switch which I pressed to no avail. So we trot in to a repair man in a little shed with hundreds of cleaners in bits all over the place. He pressed the reset button a little deeper than I had, and it worked. I was so embarrassed. He said that'll be £80 but luckily winked and laughed and sent us on our way.
