Game of Thrones: Season Five: Episode Five: I Have No Idea!

As expected and predicted, I was not able to jump back into HBO's Game of Thrones this week.  Based on the feedback I've received on Facebook the threat of spoilers for future books is too great to ignore.  Some people have rationalized to me that maybe these aren't spoilers so maybe I can keep watching.  The key word here is "maybe."  Maybe isn't ( Read more... )

Given that HBO is conflating several situations and we don't get anything about the ironborn, I don't see how it would coincide with the information waiting for Martin to finish The Winds Of Winter. That being said, I don't see how he can finish the book before the next season since they are already filming the next season and the book won't come out until the end of the year. All of next season will have been shot and in the can ready for prime time so it will all be spoiler or it will take off in a direction all its own. Should be interesting.

I will miss your commentaries. Thank you for sharing them with us for the past 4 seasons.

As far as I know, filming for the new season always takes place in July. ON top of that, when Martin finishes a book in this series, the turnaround time these days (for *his* books) to get it out to stores is about six weeks. Depending on when he finishes, they can easily get this book out before next season. The only question is whether he finishes in time.

I don't mind spoilers. My curiosity can get so high, I can't stand it and it takes the focus, and once I know the outcome, then I can relax and not worry about what's going to happen. Weird, eh.

I've really enjoyed all your in-depth analysis, especially as time goes on and my memory grows ever shorter. This season, especially, it's been helpful when I can't recall if something *really* happened in the books or if it's something that's been added to the GoT series. So I shall miss your posts.

Thanks. I'm sure there are plenty of other people around the web dissecting each episode like I do though, so I imagine you can get your fix elsewhere. :)
