Hey Bo...I miss you too and everyone else...Oh yeah and I am so gonna muradalize you and Goeff when I do get back. Have you been practicing? I left the 64 for you to have.
As far as when I will be able to come back...unfortunatley not for about another month or so. My classes are pretty demanding and I started a job serving at Ruby Tuesday so I have to wait a while to ask for time off. I wish it could be sooner. I miss all of you so much
im gonna try and get john to bring the 64 tonight and im gonna go buy a power cable...so i can practice...hopefully i can get geoff or joey to play with me, but i dont think geoff knows "the joy" he doesnt have it...i dont think he ever has...he needs intense training...
I just read that passage and... well I guess to me it just looks as though Peter was more concerned with pleasing man than God. When I read that I don't see any indication that Peter doesn't understand God's characteristics. You know, Peter also has the reputation of looking out for #1. I mean, he even went as far as denying Christ 3 times while Jesus faced crucifixion. Maybe this is just one of those instances where Peter was acting on selfishness by pleasing his fellow jews, rather than doing what he knew was right. I think that if Peter didn't understand salvation, Paul wouldn't have corrected him in such a manner as he did. I think the right thing would have been to say, "look man, this is how it is...". But since Paul did it the way he did, it kind of shows that Peter wasn't lacking in understanding, just merely acting on selfishness. I think Peter knew what was right, but he just chose to do wrong.
I think you are both kinda hung up on an issue that is irrelevant. I think that Paul would have said if anything is getting in the way of reaching another soul for Christ, push it aside. Not to diminish either of your ideas, but if this issue were to be heard by Paul between two believers and teachers, he would have pointed you out as wrong (just as he did to Peter for being selfish) and then left you at the wayside as he continued his missions. I haven't gone to Bible college or anything, but I think that teachers of the Gospel need to be professionally trained, especially those working directly impressionable youth. No one will ever completely understand the fullness of God's character. That is why we need to continually ask questions and develop and hone our faith. However, let's not get too hung up on knowledge where our pride gets in the way of God's Spirit. I made that mistake before. Let's not become Gentiles either, where we get so prideful in our obedience to Christ that we think more of ourselves than any other Christian.

Anthony, just to let you know... I talked to Andy and asked him what that was all about, and he admitted that he hasn't read any of the past discussions we've had, so his comment really doesn't ammount to much. I mean, I agree that he might have valid thoughts and opinions, but it's definitely a little more difficult to comment on something you don't know much about. So about this discussion being irrelevant, along with everything else he said, he appologizes to us in the words of, "oh crap, my bad". -jeff-
