Today, in the US way of noting the day and month, is 10/4...104!
Yeah, I'm a hardcore DouWata shipper, to the point that I think of these things, and still write 104 fanfic. I'm nearly done with a new fanfic, just a few hundred words, dealing with the guys and Jorougumo. Anyone willing to beta for me?

Noticed the date because apparently I am still bitter about the way the manga ended even though it is already *checks year* 2013.

Doumeki deserved better.

Everyone's bitter about the way it ended, except maybe CLAMP (and I wonder if there was internal disagreement about how to end it). I have not heard a single person who liked how the last couple of volumes went.

I live happily in fanfic-land for the ending, my own and a few other writers who did really excellent work, in all of which Doumeki has a much, much happier life and Watanuki is much nicer to him (though they still have their sniping times, which seem essential to their relationship).

A bit late to say this (considering that it's past 10/4 and that I'm horrible about checking LJ), but I totally agree. I remember the first time I read the last couple of volumes, and my reaction was, "WHAT THE F--- IS THIS F---KERY?!" Yeah. Totally devoured chocolate to comfort my fan-pain. I'm both relieved and not-relieved that CLAMP restarted xxxHolic -- because it could be like Tokyo Babylon and what happened to Subaru and Seishirou in X.

Also, I would be willing to beta? I've only ever beta-ed for myself, though. And I might be a bit slow. XD
