The Honolulu Civil Beat is a news website that ran an article titled “Living Hawaii: Can You Afford To Be A Teacher In The Islands?” recently. It was interesting . . .


Clearly there is an Ohno fan working on the Civil Beat’s website.

Why?

Because I cannot figure out how else Oh-chan ended up being a background image in an interactive “quiz” that asks a series of questions to help readers “figure out if you can afford to teach in paradise.”

Answer whatever you want to, but when you get to the question “Do you have a live-in partner?” click “no,” and then “no” again to the question “Would you be okay with roommates?”

The background image that appears under the next question “Are you sure you don’t want roommates? The average cost of a one-bedroom apartment in Honolulu is $1,507 . . .” is a tight zoom in on a face that defines incredulousness-our beloved Captain, who can’t fathom someone who would agree to pay that much for an apartment and refuse to have roommates. Because a "Share House" is best!

I see what you did there, Civil Beat employee. He is cute.
