"We need fresh blood, Yunho," Heechul tells him one night, leaning over the bar boredly, cocktail in hand. He's the bartender and Yunho's the boss, but somehow Yunho's ended up doing the bartending while Heechul stands around drinking and flirting with the customers. Yunho can't say he minds all too much, though. Heechul's what gets him through long nights like this.

"I know," Yunho says, eyeing the act on stage. They're good, but they're just not getting the attention this club needs. "You going to help put up audition fliers, then?"

Heechul gives Yunho a look, the one Yunho's come to know as 'you are the worst dongsaeng ever' that really means 'you better be lucky I love you'. Coming from Heechul, it's highly affectionate. Heechul sips at his cocktail, than says, airily, "can I have Saturdays off?"

Yunho throws a towel at him. "You already have Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays off!" he says, shaking his head with a laugh.

Heechul splutters, cringing as he yanks the towel off his arm and tosses it to the floor. "You're closed on Sundays," he counters, pointing and shaking his finger. "So, technically I only have two days off."

Yunho hums, picking up the towel. "Every other Saturday, final offer," he says, smacking Heechul's ass with a snap of the towel as he heads to the office to start making fliers.

"Fine!" Heechul shouts around the corner. "But the new guy better be hot!"

And so Yunho spends his Sunday off sitting next to Heechul behind a long table, listening to everything from rock bands to trot singers. All day. By the end of it, Yunho's damn near ready to pull his hair out and scream himself hoarse. He's beginning to think maybe he should just be the new act and call it good. "I hate you," Heechul tells him after the last audition of the day walks out, dejected.

"This was your idea," Yunho says calmly, though he's pretty sure the pencil he just snapped in two contradicts his voice completely.

Heechul smiles. "You agreed, though," he says, patting Yunho's back. "Who knew there were so many idiots incapable of holding a tune in this city?"

Yunho sighs, rubbing his face. "Well, I guess we'll just have to invest in a jukebox or something," he says, getting to his feet to start cleaning up.

Heechul opens his mouth to reply, but stops as someone runs into the room. Yunho pauses gathering papers, smiling politely despite his bad mood. "Auditions are over, I'm afraid," he says, placing a hand over the broken pencil.

"Oh, but- I really need this job," the man says, eyes wide. "I'm new in town, just started college and I'd really rather not wash dishes somewhere and I've been singing all my life, you won't be sorry, I promise."

Yunho blinks a little at the rapid-fire way the man speaks, then glances over at Heechul, who shrugs. "Go ahead, kid. Can't be any worse than what we've seen today, right, Yunho?"

Yunho glares at Heechul for a split second, letting him know exactly who's getting the blame this time if the 'kid' turns out to be any worse than what they've seen today. "Go ahead," he says, nodding as he sits back down.

The man, who actually does look rather kid-like and boyish now that Yunho really looks at him, smiles widely. "Oh, thank you. Um, do you want ballad or something fast?"

Yunho starts to speak, but Heechul beats him to it. "Give us something we can really shake it to," he says, wiggling in his chair. "This place needs someone who can really tear the walls up, you know?"

"Oh," the man says, brows furrowing slightly. "You want me to dance, too?"

Yunho clears his throat. "Um, it's whatever you want, really. Though, Heechul's right, it's what the place needs."

A nod, and then the man takes a deep breath and begins dancing like Yunho's never seen before. Which is saying quite a bit, because Yunho's no stranger to dancing, himself. Then the man opens his mouth and starts singing, and to say Yunho's wowed is the understatement of the year. He watches, enraptured, pretty sure his mouth is hanging open, completely sure when Heechul snickers and leans over to tap his chin lightly.

After it's over, the man flushes a little more once he looks at Yunho, and Yunho blushes in response. "Er, um. I need a name to write those paychecks out to?" Yunho says, mentally kicking himself at how nonsensical that was.

"He means, you're hired, we'll see you tomorrow night with a lovely ballad or whatever," Heechul says, standing and ruffling Yunho's hair. "Or more of that dancing, I wouldn't say no to that."

Yunho frowns up at Heechul, then stands and reaches forward to shake the man's hand as he extends it, nearly bouncing with glee. "Thank you so much. I- oh, Kim Junsu. That's my name. You won't regret this, really... um. Boss?"

Yunho laughs, committing the name to memory. "Jung Yunho," he says. "I don't think I'll regret it in the least."

Almost three weeks later, and Yunho's regretting. Just a little. While Junsu is very adept at his job, bringing in more business than ever and really waking the place up, Yunho finds that he may have a bit of a problem. He can't stop staring at Junsu every chance he gets.

Yunho's no stranger to crushes, having had one on Heechul for a little while before he realized they really worked better as friends. To be honest, Heechul was really just too gay for him, but Yunho has never told Heechul this for fear of his life. But there's still the problem of Junsu being his employee, and Junsu being, well, Junsu. Junsu is oblivious. About a lot of things. Junsu is also heavily Christian, and Yunho's not even sure Junsu's gay. He's always flirting around with Heechul, sure, but Heechul... is Heechul.

"You've got your thinking face on," Heechul drawls, flicking the tiny straw in his drink back and forth. "I can always tell because your right eye twitches a little." Yunho's glare does nothing to stop Heechul. "It's kind of cute, but a little off-putting. You should work on that."

"Hey, remember who works for who, here," Yunho says, stealing Heechul's blindingly fruity drink and taking a gulp. He blanches afterward, coughing as he shoves the drink back into Heechul's waiting hand. "Jesus, Heechul, what is that?"

"Probably something he cooked up in the disco-lit recesses of his mind," Junsu says as he slides behind the bar, flashing a bright smile and laughing his loud, joyous laugh even as Heechul throws a towel at him. "You know you love me, don't be that way."

Yunho laughs as Heechul reaches out to pinch Junsu's ass, hoping it doesn't sound too forced. "I only love you for that ass," Heechul replies, blowing kisses as Junsu smacks his hand away.

"So what are you doing tonight, Junsu?" Yunho asks, determinedly not staring at Junsu's ass before he turns around. "I think they really enjoyed that Justin Timberlake cover last night."

Junsu hums, wrapping the end of a towel around his finger before dropping it inches away from Heechul's drink. Heechul glowers and covers the glass protectively. "I was thinking I'd do another cover, actually," he says, eyes bright with excitement, "Maybe Son Dambi or BoA."

Heechul claps happily, pushing at Junsu's shoulder. "Son Dambi, please and thank you," he says firmly, "And this means more dancing, yes?"

Junsu flushes, half-shrugging. "I might have another routine done, yeah," he mumbles, smoothing down the sides of his hair. Yunho's noticed Junsu does this most when he's nervous, so he reaches forward and places a consoling hand on Junsu's shoulder, squeezing gently.

"You'll do fine," he says, smiling, "You've got groupies and everything."

Junsu laughs, shaking his head. "Yeah, I guess," he says, and ducks beneath Yunho's arm to head to the back. Yunho watches him go, and when he turns back to Heechul, there's a predatory gleam in his hyung's eyes that Yunho's not sure he likes one bit.

"You like him," Heechul says matter-of-factly.

"And I hate you," Yunho grumbles, not even attempting denial. Heechul knows him too well by now, and honestly, Yunho wonders why it took so long for Heechul to figure it out. "Don't say anything, okay? I don't want to ruin our work relationship."

Heechul snorts, grabbing the towel Junsu'd left for him. "What work relationship? You barely talk to the guy," he says as he saunters off to wipe down tables.

Yunho sighs. He really hates it when Heechul's right. Still, with that in mind, Yunho decides to take the initiative and when they're cleared out for the night, invites Junsu over for Sunday night. He figures it can't hurt to have a friendly dinner with a co-worker, in the spirit of getting to know each other better.

"Oh, sure," Junsu says, smiling widely. "Um, do you mind if I bring a friend?"

Yunho resists spluttering and says, instead, "O-Oh, yeah, it's fine. Heechul's coming, anyway, so, yeah."

Heechul raises a brow over the drink he's fixing, but doesn't contradict Yunho, and Yunho reminds himself to get Heechul something really nice for his birthday this year. Alcohol, maybe.

"That's great!" Junsu says, bouncing a little as he adjusts his bag, "We'll be there, definitely."

Yunho smiles brightly, tones it down a little when he notices Heechul snickering quietly. "Cool," he says, despite lingering resentment towards Junsu's friend. "See you then."

Junsu nods, waving and heads out the door. Heechul sidles over, lips wrapped around a green straw. "You're an idiot," he says flatly.

"And you're an alcoholic," Yunho retorts, rolling his eyes. "Just help me figure out what to wear and what we're ordering, okay?"

Heechul sighs heavily, shaking his head. "Ordering out's the easy part," he says with a grimace, and manages to nimbly avoid Yunho's towel snap without spilling a drop of his drink.

And so Sunday comes, inevitably, and Yunho and Heechul are sitting on his bed staring at his closet, Yunho blankly, and Heechul despairingly. "You have no fashion sense whatsoever," Heechul says numbly. Yunho takes in Heechul's bright pink skinny jeans, complete with a matching (or not-matching, depending on personal preference) bright blue shirt that clings to Heechul's frame like a second skin, and wonders if he'll have time to drown himself in the bath first.

"I'm not wearing anything like what you're wearing," Yunho says firmly, then frowns belatedly. "And my fashion sense isn't that bad, hyung."

Heechul gives him a disgusted sneer. "You have green. In your closet. Green."

Yunho crosses his arms petulantly. "I happen to like green, thank you," he mumbles as Heechul storms over to the closet and pulls out the offending article of clothing, waving it furiously.

"This is sickening! You, sir, are a disgrace to the world of gay men," Heechul says, flinging the shirt to the floor. He turns and digs through the closet some more and Yunho shifts restlessly, discomfort and dread creeping up his spine like... creepy-crawly things. "Ew, I don't think so, never in this lifetime or any other, oh my God, dead animal." Each statement is followed by another piece of clothing dropping to the floor, and Yunho sighs, glad he vacuumed before Heechul came over.

"Alright," Heechul says, turning around with a gleam in his eyes. "Time to go shopping."

Yunho's creepy-crawly things get out while they can.

Four hours later, Yunho's collapsed on his bed with five shopping bags and three shoeboxes laying on top of him. "Now, let's get you dressed," Heechul says gleefully. An hour after that, Yunho's in the bathroom glaring at himself and Heechul at intervals, as Heechul slicks his hair around with gel.

"How is this different from anything else I wear?" Yunho says flatly, wincing as Heechul pulls on a little harder than he should, probably on purpose.

"It's different because I made you wear it, and I have the proper senses for these things that you lack," Heechul responds, each emphasized word paired with another tug to Yunho's hair. "God, your hair is so gorgeous, you dirty bastard."

Yunho snorts upon seeing his reflection, with his hair in disarray and Heechul looking much like the Wicked Witch of the West, only his wrath is fixated on one part of Yunho's hair that doesn't wait to go in the right direction. "Hyung, it grows that way," Yunho says.

"I don't care!" Heechul says, voice raising a pitch, "It's going to go the other way if I have to stay here all night!"

What about me, Yunho thinks, wincing again.

Eventually, Heechul gives up, and Yunho styles his hair like he always does. It's a little harder this time around, no thanks to Heechul, but Yunho manages. And just in time, because as he's heading for the kitchen phone to order in, the doorbell rings.

"Shit!" he cries, patting his hair and glancing down at his outfit frantically, nearly tripping over his own feet as he rushes for the door. "Hyung, call for food!" When he opens the door, Junsu's there, looking adorable as always, though there's definitely something different about him that Yunho can't quite put his finger on.

"Oh, hello, gorgeous," an unfamiliar voice coos from the side of the doorway, and Yunho leans out, curious. He's met with shocking blond hair and really... really dark eyes that seem hell-bent on eating him alive. "Junsu, you were a little vague with the cute description."

Yunho blinks at Junsu, who's blushing fiercely. "Ah, Yunho, meet Jaejoong. He's my best friend, calls himself a 'gay of demonic charm'." He leans forward and speaks behind a hand, "And you know, sometimes I believe it."

Yunho nods slowly. He's beginning to understand why Junsu's been so comfortable with Heechul, now. "Oh. Right. Uh, come in, guys," he finally manages to say, backing up. Jaejoong winks at him and saunters inside. When Yunho raises a brow at Junsu as he's edging by, Junsu just shrugs and smiles that cute, sheepish smile of his, which is of no help at all, really.

Heechul's loud voice rings through the apartment. "Yunho, I ordered Chinese, is that oka- oh. Oh, hello." Heechul's slinking against the kitchen table staring Jaejoong up and down boldly when Yunho comes in, Jaejoong giving Heechul the same treatment.

"Um, Heechul, this is Jaejoong," Junsu says, smoothing down his hair. Heechul nods absently, tapping his fingers against his thigh.

Jaejoong hums, smiling sweetly at Heechul as he walks around the table. "Nice jeans," he says.

Yunho resists the urge to smack himself in the face. Junsu's lips are twisted into some sort of grimace or smile, Yunho can't tell. Suddenly, it dawns on Yunho what looks different about Junsu (the shirt should have been a dead giveaway, but Yunho steadfastly reminds himself he was taken aback at the time), and he has to resist that urge again. "Uh, Junsu, you wanna... um, see my living room? Or something?"

Junsu nods eagerly and follows Yunho out of the kitchen. "So," he says, laughing weakly.

"Yeah," Yunho says, equally as awkward, and gestures to the couch. "Uh, you wanna sit down?"

"Oh, right," Junsu says, flashing that blinding grin of his. "Chinese, huh?"

Yunho nods, shrugging. "Heechul did it, not me. I mean, unless you really wanted to be stuck in a burning apartment - I could go whip something up, then," he says, smiling.

Junsu laughs, more comfortably this time, shaking his head. "I'll pass, but uh, Jaejoong can cook! Next time I'll make him slave for us over the burning stove, okay?"

"I heard that!" Jaejoong calls from the kitchen, followed by, "H-hey, stop that! Those are fucking designer boots!" and Heechul's response, "I know that, asshole!"

Yunho clears his throat. "That'd be nice, if Jaejoong's willing." He wiggles a leg for a second, then adds, "So are you and Jaejoong..?"

"What?" Junsu looks almost scandalized. "N-no! God, no. Jaejoongie and I have been best friends for years, and I just don't want to ruin that, you know?"

Yunho hums agreement, relieved. "Yeah, I get that. And I think I see why you and Heechul get along so well, too," he says, trailing off as the commotion from the kitchen grows louder. He leans forward to peek into the kitchen. Jaejoong's got Heechul in a headlock, Heechul's got a boot in an outstretched hand and they're spinning in circles. "I think they'll get along just fine, too."

"Maybe," Junsu says, head tilted thoughtfully. "Depends on how the hair situation looks after the scuffle is over."

By the end of the night, Heechul and Jaejoong have decided to call a truce due to their love of fashion and alcohol, and have spent the past two hours after dinner getting plastered at the kitchen table. Yunho and Junsu take refuge in the living room again, watching some of Yunho's favorite dramas. "Ooh, she's going to marry him, isn't she?" Junsu says, pointing and nudging Yunho's shoulder. "Right? Right? Wait, no, don't tell me."

Yunho laughs, shaking his head as he wraps his arm around Junsu's shoulders, pulling him close. Junsu snuggles up to him willingly, dropping his head on Yunho's shoulder. He smells good, like apples, maybe, and Yunho hesitantly rests his cheek on top of Junsu's head.

"Hyung?"

Yunho raises up guiltily, composing himself. "Yeah?"

"This is boring."

"Oh, um. We can put in another one?" Yunho suggests, flailing internally.

Junsu lifts his head, eyeing Yunho down not unlike Heechul does, sometimes. "No, I don't want to watch anything else," he says. "You smell nice, what cologne is that?"

Yunho flushes. "Something Heechul bought earlier. I don't know if I like it much."

"I like it," Junsu says, smiling. "So, can we make out? I'm still bored and I've wanted to kiss you for a while now." Junsu doesn't wait for an answer and leans up to kiss him, and really, what response could Yunho have come up with, anyway. He decides maybe he likes this cologne after all. And Heechul. And Junsu. And hell, even Jaejoong. And then Junsu does something with his tongue and Yunho gives up on thinking anything at all.

"So, did Jaejoong turn you gay or something?" Yunho asks Junsu the next night, watching as Heechul leans over the bar to steal a gulp of Jaejoong's drink, laughing wildly as Jaejoong smacks at him, also laughing.

"No," Junsu says, snorting. "I had a crush on him for a while but," Junsu pauses, tugging Yunho back a little. "Well, to be honest, he's just too gay, you know?"

Yunho laughs, glad he's leaning against something for fear of falling to the floor. "Yeah," he says, then glances at the clock thoughtfully. Junsu's not scheduled to go on stage for another twenty minutes.

"What?" Junsu says when Yunho's gaze falls on him, confused.

Yunho just grins and decides Heechul can handle the bar for a little while. "C'mon, we need to christen my office."
