Yeah, I realized this morning that like, half my friends list (and half my friends, lol) were English majors or minors or both. I, meanwhile, haven't taken an English class since high school, and don't have a lot of experience with poetry. Hence the organic approach!! I'm a wee n00b, exploring the world of poetry one LJ post at a time. :D
I was trying to figure out where to start this month when I realized I'd JUST read that poem and loved it, even if it was on the maudlin side; beautiful is beautiful, right?

It's sort of -- upliftingly maudlin, though, I think. And certainly lovely.

Why, thank you!! :D I'm learning about poetry and reading amazing literature, and it's great. I'm a little out-classed, but since I'm kind of stumbling into poems, I don't have a compunction to put up the Best Poetry Evar; if I like it, I'll post it. :D
