Well. It was a surprising way for him to bring it up I wasn't sure what he was saying and ... well ... yes it is a little bit surprising he thinks about marrying me. I maybe didn't think he was ready or trusted me that much.

...When you start dating somebody is it not automatically assumed you're fine with the idea of marrying them eventually?

... no? Not automatically anyway. I don't think anyone should assume that kind of stuff in a relationship, you're meant to talk about it first.

Marriage is a forever thing, you're properly tying yourself to them and officiating it and everything and you've got to really trust them and understand everything about them and be capable of dealing with it all and ... well, relationships are complicated. Especially this one.
