Some really beautiful slices of life here, with perfect insights into the three of them good intentions and flaws and all.

The non-linearity of it threw me off a bit, but that's me: my brain just doesn't cope well with stuff out of order. But this little scene really made me catch my breath:

When Jack looks at them like they’re salvation, like they’re something he wants desperately but cannot touch, Rose doesn’t understand. When the look comes as she wanders into Jackie’s kitchen, dressed in old pyjamas and hair unbrushed, stealing a piece of toast from the Doctor’s plate with a mumbled good morning, she is further confused.

Later, when Jack mentions that he’s been on the run for the better part of a decade, it dawns on her that the gentle normality of morning routine might be a little bit foreign to him, untouchable, even.

The next morning, she steals a piece of toast from the Doctor, and a slice of melon from Jack.It's so Rose and Jack: Jack in his longing to belong but feeling he has no right to, and Rose's tendency to notice

I didn't even think about linear time, though in retrospect I suppose does jump quite a bit.
Poor Jack often gets the 'on the outside looking in' role, but based on canon it's not that inaccurate.
