"Early one morning, just as the sun was rising, yes that's it pet. Up, up with you. I heard a maid sing in the valley below. Come now Spike, you musn't sleep while the slayers about. Don't you remember the things she did to you lover? All the scratching and biting at your wee little, beat-less heart. Oh don't deceive me, Oh never leave me, How could you use, a poor maiden so?"
"It's funny isn't it?"
"Even as a soulless vampire, she still chooses him over you."
Heard a voice.
Enervated, I got up. 'Early one morning'
I snarled and faced my adversaries again. I wanted the girl. She was the one. She was the reason. The guy with the forehead would be moving one way or the other.
I then saw her. The face so familiar, important in one aspect, but at the moment, not a factor. I faced her.
I smiled. That was a good question. What exactly did I want from him? At the moment...I wanted him to get Angelus out of the way. If he killed the slayer another would be called and we didn't want that now did we? No, of course we didn't.
"Easy pet. There's no need to be cross with princess."
I circled him, running, put not touching, my hand along his shoulders. He had to believe I was her, that I was Drusilla.
"Angelus has been a bad daddy. He's trying to kill the pretty slayer. But she's your slayer isn't she Spike? He's not supposed to have her, is he? And, you don't want to share, right?"
Just get rid of him I thought. Leave him alive if you can, if not...to bad for him I guess. After Angelus was removed from the equation I would allow Spike to take control of his actions again. Chancing Angelus should keep them busy while I work some things out back in Sunnydale.
"Easy pet. There's no need to be cross with princess."
Touched my head. The rage of wanting to hurt the girl was hard to control, but my salvation was telling me not to be cross with her, so I did my best to not be angry.
I could still hear them in the background, but worked on tuning them out of my focus. This was Drusilla, so glamorous and sinewy that I was looking at.
"Angelus has been a bad daddy. He's trying to kill the pretty slayer. But she's your slayer isn't she Spike? He's not supposed to have her, is he? And, you don't want to share, right?"The rage didn't return like it had a minute ago, but there was something there. Angelus, the name brought forward so much anger in me, anyway, and she was my slaya, wasn't she? Only I couldn't figure out what she was saying to me. Was she telling me to go after the slaya? Hadn't she hated with a fiery bloody passion my interaction with the slaya in the past

That's a good boy I thought. He believes I'm Dru, and that's good. He wants to please Dru, that's even better. Although, he was a little slow on the up take wasn't he? Oh well, they can't all be geniuses now can they.
"I want you to make him go away Spike. Send daddy away."
I moved closer to the hole in the truck, the only Spike had come through, and watched the two of them fight. The singing stopped. He was no good to me like this at the moment, although it had been fun to see the look on the slayers face when Spike had turned on her. Now though, now I needed him to...
"Protect the girl, keep her safe."
And then, I was gone, leaving Spike to himself and his own thoughts.
