I like that Chuck's mum called him Charlie, I thought that was a nice touch. (I don't know any Australians named Charles who would go by Chuck, very unusual.) I also thought you did a great job of making Chuck's mum seem wonderful and perfect in the way that people often remember the dead, but you didn't make her so perfect that she didn't feel genuine, if that makes sense?

I tried to get in a moment where Herc called him "Charlie" and he freaked out, but the flashbacks were getting away from me. I'm fairly certain I messed up the tenses a few times as it is.
Thank you again.

Chuck's mom seems like such a lovely lady, though it appears that in the entire Hansen family she is the only one who can show her emotions freely. >_< I can sort of understand Chuck and Herc's lack of emotional communication here - since they try to suppress the most emotionally expressive person in their lives since the day they started Drifting, it makes sense that they just don't communicate well.
I really love it! :-)

Ha ha, you know the Silmarilion, then? Oh dear *blushing furiously* I was not mature enough to be making these references.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
