They have never spoken about this.
This is so perfectly IC. The idea that House finds comfort in Wilson at night, when the memories/nightmares strike, but by day they both ignore it.

It’s the protocol for this delicate act.
A protocol that Wilson has discovered not by asking questions but by listening to all the nonverbal cues House lets out, an ability honed in twenty years of exercise. Love also the repeated parallels with taking care of a child.

What a perfect story. I need good fluff so badly, thank you for writing this!

Absolutely gorgeous story. Especially loved the description of Wilson as an anchor, friend, and lover - but every word was perfect. Even the small details, like the red scarf, made my heart ache, but there was something very calming and gentle about Wilson's presence as well. Lovely job.

It makes me happy to think that House has someone to comfort him in the middle of the night when he has nightmares (and who wouldn't after all he's been through!) Lovely.
