It sounded ridiculously high, but made a little more sense to me when I read that they meant 'some ambiguous higher power' and not necessarily a specific concept of god [like, for instance, fire-and-brimstone Old Testament God]. It's still high, but seems a little more believable.

That 'atheist' thing is annoying though.

i don't live in the city, no. i live where i grew up, about a 30 minute drive to the south in mountain view. my boyfriend and i have considered moving into the city because we're both city folk, but the commute becomes ridiculous (steve did it when he first came down here and moved jobs within months). we both work in palo alto, which neighbors mountain view. i've looked at apartments though, and the rent in SF and in palo alto actually seem about the same. if you move down here though, i would definitely be available for lots of hanging out despite being location challenged. besides me in the area, there's also steve and ryan, and james as in jameth who live in the city. lisa was here but moved back up to seattle recently. other than that, i don't know who else you know down here. you should try to convince ang to move here (she grew up in the area). she always sounds like she wants to and then she never does.
