sports :(

People who are not sports fans or who don't follow sports seem, understandably, to not get why some other people get so emotionally invested in sports. It does seem kind of dumb, but then again everyone gets too invested into something or other. Unless they are just really boring. Check out the 17-year losing streak of the Pirates.
I've also grown up with the sinking feeling that my teams were never going to get any better in my lifetime-- and after what felt like a lifetime of waiting, they finally did.

When you live in a mostly post-industrial blue-collar city, it's hard not to feel like your teams are something more important than they maybe really are... I really know how you feel!
Don't sweat it. Things will get better!

I know, I almost felt like I didn't have a right to say anything because of that- but the last time the Penguins won the cup was when I was 9, with some pretty sad stuff in between.

I like the Buffalo teams too, since I used to live up there- so good luck this year! : )

I saw the end of the football game yesterday by accident! and i swore if the bills won i would try to like/pay attention to football this year just for shits and giggles! and i thought of you!
