1. The whole "(read:blah blah)" is just a more stylish way of saying something you want to refer to. It's the lazy person's way out of going into details. David Sedaris tends to implement past references into his writing that way. 2. It's so much easier to use "(sp?)" than actually go through the effort of having to find the correct spelling of a word. 3. I don't know what to say about the whole "mang" phenomenon. I've heard it everyday speech, so I've always just thought it was something carried onto internet lingo.
1. DAMNIT! Thanks dude. I've been pondering that for a while. i was always thinking "do they pronounce it 'read' or 'read???'" 2. People are lazy. 3. I gotta crack this case! I think it has something to do with mexicans.
Damn skippy about the computer lab comment. I hate that crapola.
As for those questions: 1. I believe it just gives a reference to an Event of something/situation that is competely relevant but difficult and bothersome to go into a long explanation of...also it could be in refards to another post especially here on LJ.
2. Sp? confused the hell outta me FOR SO LONG! Until...I asked someone and it was agreed upon that it meant "Spelling? (is it correct, man?)"
Yeah i think see is better. There's only one way to pronounce it! i used to think sp was an acronym for something. "super pizza??? SURE I'LL TAKE ONE!" And we gotta get started on cracking the mang case!
