Firstlt, I spent all day yesterday listening to Guns&Roses and reliving my youth so thank you for that lol
Brilliant second chapter. I love that Reid was still reticent about completely throwing himself (and his achey-breaky heart) out there, but Luke managed to talk him down.
The inclusion of Angus was a master-stroke, showing the events and actions that have shaped Reid, and as a vehicle for revealing LuRe's feelings for each other.
"Reid chuckled. "I asked him if I could bring someone." Reid looked away awkwardly and then back to Luke. "I mean....just in case...........ya know, if we're even together in a month and you want to go......you don't have to. I know you have family here that you probably would rather be with at the holidays. It's not a big deal."" I love vulnerable, babbling Reid, this was completely in-character with what we've seen on the show. Spot on!!!
And finally, the way they interact with each other is just so intoxicating, love it!
This was so worth the wait. Fantastic as usual. You should publish your work as your writing is so much better than alot of the work I buy in the M/M genre. Thank you for posting. A fine start to my Sunday morning.
Honestly, I don't know how you do it. I always expect a good read when I see one of your stories but this was a new perspective of another possible future.
Part of me doesn't even want them to get together in this story. There is something so exquisite about Reid's loneliness. He has turned Luke's rejection into something so magnificent. Luke doesn't deserve to be the one who helps Reid crawl out of his misery.
I especially like how you display Reid's fear that Luke is only reaching out right now because he is lonely from the holiday and feeling bummed by Noah's boyfriend.
Maybe it's because Reid's angst reminds of me of my icon and when he looked so gorgeous.
But, as beautiful as Reid looks when pained (and honestly, Luke also), of course I want them both to find their way back to each other.
And just a little side note - I maybe hate Noah most of all because he now has made liking indie, introspective movies into something to deride :)
