Take the long route back to where I began

Jan 11, 2014 04:44

I originally began blogging regularly on LiveJournal in 2002. It began with a few dribbles and drabbles and some waxing about a now-ex boyfriend that makes me cringe to this day, then eventually grew into something more. Sometimes, I was really consisted about it. Other times, I wasn't. There was one three-month period in 2005 where I pretended to ( Read more... )

I've also become less active on LJ due to the new job I got last year (and the insane hours that came with it).

I've missed your posts. But at least we can still catch glimpses of each other via Tumblr. And I'm glad to hear that you're still dabbling in Slayers fics.

I hope you and Isa are able to do a con in California someday. I'd love to meet you and buy some of your Namesake swag in person

P.S. Still eagerly awaiting my second Namesake Kickstarter book. :)

I'm hoping to get the bookplates from Isa either today or Monday, then I can begin mailing them out again. I'm so excited! I'm ready to reclaim the apartment back!

I saw you watched "Princess Jellyfish." I haven't seen much anime lately, but I love, love it. How are you liking the job?

I'll bet! I'm sure Mike and the cats will be happy to have their space back, too. LOL

Princess Jellyfish is the first "new" anime I've seen in ages. I haven't tried out many new ones because a lot of my free time has gone to video games lately (I finally caved and got a PS3 in order to play Ducktales:Remastered).

The new job has gone well (I lucked out in November and got a lot of sales commissions!). However, we recently transferred everything to computers. So lately it's been all about working out the bugs in the system. :P
Also, the job has been a great outlet for working on my art (since I sit at a desk talking on a phone all day, I draw a LOT). And my bosses don't care if I doodle as long as I get my work done. ^_^

....the only downside is that sitting down all day in an office has resulted in something my mother has lovingly dubbed "secretary spread". So I had to buy a little exercise bike and invest in a few new pairs of larger work slacks. LOL

I've become less active due to, well, less activty on LJ in general. :/

All I really do on Tumblr is blog and reblog stuff.

And I've also missed yours and everyone else's entries!

Dude, we should ALL meet at a con in California!

Oh, nice to see you post here! :)

That's a lot of writing, sounds wonderful! The fanfic projects are very exciting, the "Stolen Earth" rewrite sounds especially promising… And Ponds rewrites all the way. (Ponds including River?)

All three of the story ideas involve lots and lots of River. :) The key to the series 4 rewrite

I owe you so many reviews on your fics. Your story of Eleven and River's first time was just utterly brilliant. I've read everything you've written, I just need to kick myself in the rear and leave reviews. You've left such lovely ones for me.

Bit missing there, perhaps? ^_^

Ohhhh! :D I'm so happy to hear you've liked my work, it means a lot ♥ (Especially the first-time story, which is really my baby… It doesn't happen often that a story makes me so happy and proud :)) Take your time for the reviews though, no stress! *hugs*

Oops, that was me before coffee. River's key to the series 4 rewrite story working out without having to resort to things such as the DoctorDonna.

I must admit that I never really gotten into blogging in the first place, but the overall trend I noticed is that people tend to be active at places where other people with similar interests are the most active... which seems to be Tumblr at the moment.
Unfortunately I can't really get used to Tumblr's media-centric (instead of text-centric) approach even as a passive user, as I find it slightly... cheap, maybe? Not sure. I guess I'll just have to wait for the next big thing to come in 1-3 or so years. ;)

Well, I guess I should clarify by blogging, I mean longer text posts like this.

Tumblr can be really overwhelming. I tame it to my needs using extensions.

Happy New Year! Oh do let me know if you are able to get to DragonCon.

I wish I understood what the heck Tumblr was all about, but as for now I'm just going to stick with LJ.

I enjoy reading your posts (sporadic as they are); fannish or not, they are always thoughtful. Oh I'd like to see that "what if" fic too!

I really, really hope we can too! I also love reading your posts. I just got done producing our site for the big James Franklin news conference, and that was exhausting!

To me, Tumblr is a chance to just squee really loudly over a bunch of random stuff. I have put some meta on there (mainly to refute the utterly stupid opinion from some extreme Alex Kingston fans and Moffat haters that are absolute bonkers).

I might have to move the "what if?" fic up the queue. I love it as well.

It's been so long seen I've regularly been on LJ. So many people have moved away from it, but like you-- it holds the memories of many a year and trials and moves and emotional roller coasters.

I'm still in the habit of visiting every day, because there's just enough that still post here regularly that it's really worth it. But I looked at the list of people following me and am sadden to see so many deleted accounts.

I visit everyday, too-- I just don't post. I'm on Tumblr, too and it's my main area for fandom anymore, ever as it shifts.
