update on my stuff and things

I suppose I've been strangely silent on LJ lately given that my boss has been out of town. Most of my downtime at work has been spent on the online courses I'm taking in preparation for my communication disorders program in the fall. You might be interested to know that August 8 is Sneak some zucchini onto your neighbor's porch day. Short of such extreme measures, I strongly recommend harvesting squash blossoms along the way which are tasty and after being harvested and eaten will not turn into even more zucchini.

We've gotten decidedly mixed results with our plot, too. We haven't had any issues with squirrels, but between the leaf-miners who are after the chard and our prematurely bolting spinach, I've been concerned that our first-year output is going to be a little sparse.

LOL, that is hilarious! Do you guys like zucchini? We could still offer you our secondary pot of 3 plants if you want it. They've grown much less prolifically than the huge planter, so they might not have the room they need. But if you're interested, you're welcome to do with it what you will!

Your garden sounds awesome!! I wish we had the space for that here, but then again, I am kidding myself to think I could keep up with that much outside work.
