I'm so glad you finished this story! Love it to pieces. It's heart-breaking, but so beautifully in character. This chapter is perfect to end it there, really. Whatever deal you made with your muse it was a good one and worth it! ;)

Thank you. I briefly entertained the idea of an epilogue in which some version of blue-eyed happiness is achieved, albeit not in the rainbows and puppies sort of way it usually goes, but it seemed cheap. The whole point of the story, I think, was emphasizing the journey more than the potential outcome.

My muse is now living in riches, having taken me for all I was worth.
