Well, no, apparently. Does Gordon actually listen to those petitions on his website?

Someone does, as the proposed rewording of the highway code requiring cyclists to use cycle facilities has been changed to allow cyclists to use their discretion. Feels like a change from the previous powermonger already!

That is good news. There's one cycle lane I don't use because:

a) it is on the pavement, just where a gaggle of people stand waiting at a bus stop.
b) it abruptly runs out so you have to move back ito the road after two blocks anyway
c) there are always cars parked on it

Under the circumstances I'm thrilled I'm not forced to use it anyway!

I love them! Thanks for the link. That's brilliant. I especially enjoyed the speed bumps on a hill to prevent cyclists going uphill too fast.
