Home Again

I had an interesting conversation yesterday about the nature of 'home'. Is it a place you return to, where you currently hang your hat, or anyplace where you find yourself in the company of those you love?

For a long time, I pretty much considered it wherever I was for the long term, especially since even my parents' home wasn't really my home anymore. But I definitely see it differently now.

Well, now I see my home as with Chris, so I suppose that's a place I return to that has the person I love.

*He smiles, happy with the general overall turn of events in their lives.* Do you two have any special plans for the future?

Well, being that I've never really been away from what I've always considered to be my home, I'd have to say that home is a place. But that's always apt to change. I have a feeling that the Hood will quickly become home. But...in the meanwhile...I have a feeling I'm going to be experiencing some homesickness.

The lack of ocean alone is enough to make a guy go crazy. It's fortunate I'm a counselor!

Physician heal thyself? We sometimes make the worst patients. What we're trained to see in others is often ignored in ourselves.

*laughs* It was actually in facing those problems I was hoping to ignore that I got the inspiration to go into the field I'm in.

And do you have any regrets so far? About the field you've chosen.
