Boyce glances across the room at the autopsy table, a sheet now fully obscuring the remains. He'd perished of Synthococcus Novae, a fast spreading and fatal strain of bacillus.

He laughed a little, "I'll see what I can do. What did him in?"

"He was infected with a mutated strain of bacillus called Synthococcus Novae. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, dehydration, delirium, and finally coma followed by death."

He sits down wearily in a chair. "It's highly contagious."
