Writing it down is good, as gothtique says. I don't know why - I don't think for the reasons pop psychology will tell you. I think it's something about making it indelible - getting all the little and big unreal details (and all the details seem unreal) in their little places. That's important. I can describe my father's death (12/10/1964) in precise detail. I don't know why it's important, but it is.

I am so, so, so sorry :(. What an awful thing, on so many levels. I know we're just "internet friends" via dog-trainers etc., but I am so sorry that you lost your husband in such a terrible way.
