Heeeey, sorry to impose here, but I'm trying to work on the next chapter of Distractions and I was wondering if I could hit you up for a teeny bit of info on Charleston. *begs and offers you cookies* I looked up some tourist info and I've kinda settled on them going to Angel Oak Park, but it looks like it has hours of operation? Which seems weird, for a park, especially since they don't charge admission. So I was wondering- is there a gate or a guard or a way to keep people out after 5? If they wanted to go in later, would they have to find a way to sneak in, or could they just walk in? Is that just how late some things are open or are people not supposed to enter after that? If you have any idea and can fill me in, that would be AMAZING. *hugs*

Hi there! I am honored that you asked me. I am not sure about angel oak park in particular, but in general i believe there tend to be gates that people drive into, which are manned. People don't walk very much in that area, so it would be unusual for people to arrive on foot. I think it would be very easy to "sneak" in after hours by parking nearby along the road and walking in. Of course this could result in police kicking you out, but I am not sure. I guess it depends on what's nearby. Oddly enough, I don't think I have been to that park. I don't know what you have in mind and of course I don't presume to challenge your choice of park :D but there are lots of beautiful spots within walking distance of Stephen's parents'... to drive to John's island at night to go to a park would be a little strange, unless one were specifically looking for a secluded spot...maybe that's your intention, heheee... but in general then it would be too dark to appreciate the spectacular tree. But anyway those are my voluminous thoughts :) Feel free to ( ... )

You're a peach, thank you so much! As I said, I know NOTHING about the area, so I was just looking up tourist information. I dunno what residents would do or what spots they would probably want to take visitors, but when I saw that park (again, no idea of where it is in relation to where they're staying >_<), it seemed like something that Stephen might like Jon to see. I had nothing in particular planned, when I thought park maybe I thought they might have a picnic or something, despite the cold. But that was just an "I can't think of anything else so this might work" idea, I'm not married to it. If you have any suggestions of things in the area it might be fun to do, that would be fantastic. Oh! And what would the weather be like? I know it varies, but what's a typical late Deceber evening in Charleston like? Thank you again, you're amazing! <3
