It's the being trapped in JustFriendsLand that's saddening; the sickening realization that you have been irrevocably classed as "Romantically Neuter, Safe To Talk To About ANYTHING" and not being enough of a moral crud to violate that trust by actually copping to being, y'know, sexually interested in said friend.
