Seeing as my Bah humbug is being MOST ineffectual this year... and people keep saying "you're so hard to shop for... you have everything you could ever want... and what you don't have... you just BUY for yourself" I'll post a list. No order, just random things from the top of my head ( Read more... )

You'd be better off waiting till MArch and getting ready for the new technology/ old technology price drop. Get a system built from a local supplier, or a person buying the parts and assembling for you. You get better bang for your buck oing that, rather than going to a Future Shop/Best Buy and getting an off the shelf HP or something.

the 2 places I routinely browse are tigerdirect.ca and canadacomputers.com

Know of any better places?

Tiger's good, Mike got his computer there, and I know a few others who have as well. As to the rest... you'll probably get baking from me, as such is my tradition, because everybody likes sugar.

heh. Darn tootin I am!

Although... to be perfectly honest with you, I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat. Maybe not forever... but my roots have been screaming to discover their heritage *nods* Next vacation I book will be accross the pond to the Land O' Eyre.

Apparently my family (Boylen) are descendants from great kings of Ireland.

ugh.. people always say that "oh my god ireland is so cool!" etc..
i've been here seven years, and i get bitter and bitter as time goes on.
it's is VERY different to canada.... i think it's only dublin that has poisoned me though. the rest of the country is beautiful.. but for a few quick facts:
• ireland is one of the most expensive countries in the european union
• it also is known for stealth taxes. we're taxed to fuck here!
• there is a binge drinking problem among youths
• government corruption. massive.

a program was even made called "rip-off republic" to highlight the problems in ireland. it was shocking. the government are shitting themselves over it! as if we didn't already know what was going on................
for more info: click me

anyway, enough bad talking. ireland is beautiful. just not the internal workings of the place. i prefer my homeland.. but i'm stuck here for some reason!
come see it for yourself! tourists love it .. that's cos they don't have to live here!

Which raises a great question.

If someone loves photography, history and heritage, and want to soak in all Ireland has to offer... How long do they need, and what would you (my Canadian tourisim embassador) recommend putting on the itinery?
