It will definitely be interesting to see what happens - if there was ever a time we needed a third party, it's now. My parents, who both consider themselves Republicans, are fed up with their party - they're both pro-choice and pro-stem cell research and can't believe how far right their party is going (Guiliani may be the exception), but they don't want to support the Democrats either. I'm definitely scared of how far right some of the Republican contenders are, but I don't have too much respect for some of the Democrats either, since political races tend to be very polarizing.
I just want someone who is pro-choice, pro-rights, and pro stem cell research, will get us out of Iraq reasonably, who won't raise taxes and won't levy too many restrictions on businesses that wil disrupt the economy for the sake of the environment (taxing every idiot who buys a huge SUV for personal use is ok). Is that too much to ask?

In this country? Probably.
I tend to lean toward the left (in case it wasn't completely obvious from "Uninsured" :-)), and I'm absolutely appalled at the state of the country. With Supreme Court justices wanting to treat women like incubators and the neocons wanting to provoke Russia on top of everyone else we've pissed off/invaded/intimidated, I'm terrified of what will happen in 2008. People in the U.S. tend to have short memories, and I hope they're not dazzled by empty campaign promises again.
I agree with you about the Democrats, too. They're too busy bashing each other in the primaries to get serious about the issues. Here's a link to an interesting article in The Nation that talks
