Post-dino.

It might have been irresponsible, but the first thing Cameron had done upon getting back to the compound (and after watching her fellow group members be reunited with people who were actually looking for them) was shower. For as long as she could, though frankly, she still smelled a little bit when she was done, and her arm was bleeding badly ( Read more... )

"No," he said, "but I am smelly and in pain. What do you need?" He should probably have added 'irritable' to that list as a day with insane children up in a tree being chased by dinosaurs would do that to you, but 'irritable' wasn't really a strong enough word and his head hurt to much to come up with a better one.

"A hug," said Cameron, as seriously as she could manage, and then went to sit down on a bed, pulling one of her legs up beneath her. "But since you smell too, I'd settle for stitches on this cut. If you can't do it, I'll wait for someone else," she added.

He ignored the part about the hug and said, "I notice that you, however, do not smell. Or rather, you smell kind of nice. Clean, even. Which makes me think that either a dinosaur is loose in the compound and attacking people in the showers, or you honestly thought that not smelling bad was more important than bleeding. Women."

He hooked his cane onto the leg of a stool, pulled it over in front of her bed, sank down onto it, and said, "Okay, let's see."

Cameron obediently held out her arm, grateful for his irritability. "Or," she said, "I had the luck of falling into a pile of rotting dinosaur and thought getting it off of me was more important. I'm weak like that."

The cut was just long and deep enough to require a few stitches, and jagged from being made by the shattering of bone against her skin.
