Dear Lazyweb:

Quicken?  Quicken Essentials?  Mint?  Moneydance?  GnuCash?  MS Money?  Some other thing I haven’t heard of?  Pimp your solutions at me, please: go!

In an ideal world, this would:
  • have an iPhone app interface, so I can quickly add in things like restaurant bills
  • do bill payment
  • interface with my various bank/retirement accounts
  • run on MacOS ( Read more... )

Hm. See below: I'm impressed with it so far, except for the giant gaping hole of functionality in the middle of its featureset.

Moved from msmoney and quicken to mint a year ago and couldn't be happier.

Use quicken, like it fine, but i don't online bank with it, since i don't like giving my ID/PW to 3rd party programs.

I use ledger, but it sounds like it wouldn't work well with your requirements.

ok, so I did massive amounts of research on this some time ago, and didn't actually come up with one I liked. I'm not fond of the pure web solutions, so if you're into that, one of those may be your best bet, I don't know. Quicken, while awesome on Windows, just isn't getting the amount of Mac attention it needs. I ended up with Moneydance, which is functional, but 'eh'.
