I was averaging 7min 30sec per mile, which is probably about as serious as I'm ever going to get on a 12km race at this stage in my life. :) So no, no silly costume for me, although there was one Na'vi and one Old Naked Dude in the "A" corral.
This was my second time: I did it in an hour and ten minutes last year, so I'm pretty psyched to have carved nearly 13 minutes off my old time.
I'd love to run that one someday. We have the Bayou City Classic, which is kind of like it in that there are costumes and there is beer at the finish line (and which was my first 10K and which I ran dressed as a Ghostbuster and whose costume contest I lost to a pair of Oompa Loompas), but it's not the same.
That's about twice as fast as I'd have done it (if I had, instead of just spectating and wishing I'd actually participated), so it looks athletic from here.
(I'd have been walking instead of running, but still.)
