If you could have dinner with anyone in all of history, who would it be, and why?
All of history, huh? I've never really been big on history that much.
I know a lot of people are bound to be bold and name an eternally famous individual like Shakespeare or one of the US' first presidents, or maybe some massive figure that stands out in their lives and that they look up to.
I guess I'm going to have to be unoriginal in this one, no matter how much of a cliché it may be.
I would be perfectly content with having dinner with my parents. So sue me.
My parents live in France, which is where I would be today if I wasn't working for FLAG. My parents are awesome. They always seemed like they came out of a make-believe story. You know, the couple that was always so in love, the parents that never fought. And I've looked up to them like no one else.
I always liked Dad's advice (or Papa, as I used to call him). He seemed to know exactly what to do en every sticky situation imaginable, and no matter how weird his advice was, every time I followed it, it was always okay. I remember when I was a little girl I would swear up and down that when I grew up I would always know what to do, just like Dad. And my Mom was crazy. *smiles* You know, a "cool" Mom who's really a kid at heart and really knows how to have fun.
*sighs* When they moved to France and found out that I wasn't coming along, I promised them that I'd come to visit at least once a year, but most of the time my life schedule doesn't allow it. I think I've seen them once since they moved out, and it's only been email back and forth since then.
What I would give to have dinner with them again...
What makes you laugh?
*smiles* I love laughing. A lot of things make me laugh. Sometimes things that make me laugh aren't funny to other people, or sometimes they are. It depends.
But one thing in particular that makes me laugh is my friends. Or sometimes people in general. I love it when laughter is entwined in the conversations I have with friends. Things they do, things they say. Whether they were trying to be funny or not, that's usually a different story. But sometimes it can be as simple as saying something and it comes out strangely, or maybe a joke they told. That's why whatever man I choose to spend the rest of my life with has to be able to make me laugh. Does that make sense?
But I don't limit my source of laughter to just people. There are countless other things, too. Bad jokes, or good jokes. Inside jokes even. Soap operas especially make me laugh, and good clean comedians, too. But I guess all those are kind of a given, aren't they?
Jay used to make me laugh...
