I know I've done this before, but I'm usually opposed to putting political content in my journal. I didn't create it for this purpose, but hol-e-crap! Fox news is in total propaganda mode.

I believe the corollary to Godwin's law says that lady lost the argument with the first utterance of the word Nazi.

I don't understand a lot of this arguing. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare are all social programs but no one is saying DOWN WITH MEDICARE. Also, some of these people protesting sound like they flat out DO NOT want people who can't afford health insurance to have any easy way to get it. I wish someone would say, "I DON'T CARE IF YOU DON'T HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE. I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE WITH TAX DOLLARS FROM MY PAYCHECK." I mean, if people were to say "I would rather pay higher health care costs than have the money I pay in taxes be spent on a grad student who can't be on his parents' insurance anymore," they'd at least be honest. And it sounds a little selfish but it would be a valid argument. Why can't one of these Republicans come out and say that?

Also, I think Barney Frank is kind of a hardass sometimes, but I find him friggin adorable. Is that weird?

It's more like the people who are protesting against it don't understand a damn thing about it. They think the government will be getting rid of private healthcare completely and that they'll have to wait in lines in order to go to the doctor, in a nutshell. Oh, and that somehow we're going to kill their grandmother in the process.

How can you not? He's like mixture of Daffy Duck and Carol Channing.

I loved that. :P But since Barney is our only (supposedly) gay Congressman, I feel the need to love on him anyway. I am never surprised with the "fair and balanced" Fox News anymore. I just can't wait until their way of thinking is finally outdated and I can see their station crumble down around them.
