John and I went to see it the other day. I actually really liked it up until the part where he meets the monsters. Then it just seemed like it got more convoluted and lost and going off on some weird tangent about not being able to make everyone happy. And all the monsters had no self-confidence and were neurotic and kinda mean. Not really a place you'd picture a kid escaping to in his imagination.
"Then there was the MC Tommy Tallarico. I'm sure the man is well respected in his field and if I heard any of his scores I might be impressed but thirty minutes into the show I wanted the man dead."
LOLOLOLOL. His guitar is never even plugged in. What does that tell you. :D
I liked Where the Wild Things Are, but I wanted to love it and didn't. Very curious as to what happened with the production as well, the credits were a mess for a film that ultimately looked/felt simplistic.
