So I just caught up with Merlin (just started airing third season in the UK) and I gotta say, it is awesome. wtf is up with imdb? it's failing at links :/.

I tried very hard to like 'Merlin,' but it never clicked with me during the first season. I liked the last couple of episodes, so maybe I should think about the second season, but I got bored with the repetitious theme of everything is fine, magic happens, magic hasn't been seen in forever and it's BAD, Merlin makes a bad decision, Merlin makes a good decision, and then Authur is saved. I also have issues that I don't feel like Merlin the character is anything like Merlin the legend. I like the eccentric wisdom associated with Merlin, and while I know that takes age, I wish there was a hint of it instead of the bumbling fool type of character they settled with instead.

That said, I do loves my fiction when it comes to classic characters. While I'd be surprised if you haven't stumbled upon her already, beren-writes has some Merlin ficcage that is fun to read. My favorite is the cross-over fic with Harry Potter and how Merlin and Authur don't fit into the legends they all knew. ;)

aww that's a shame! but i totally get the getting bored with repetition; almost every episode in the first season is formulaic. I don't particularly mind it, cause I really don't care very much about the plot; I just see it as a vessel to put the characters in different situations and see what decisions they'll make. They make up for it a bit in the second season, where a lot more actually happens, but you still get the "oh no someone's going to kill Arthur I wonder if Merlin will save him" episodes ( ... )

UH. REMEMBER HOW I TOLD YOU ABOUT THIS AGES AGO. AND YOU, SIR, DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FIC. I HAVE THEE COVERED. SO COVERED. It's epic. Merlin FIC IS AWWWWWWWWWWWESOME. Seperis does some Merlin fic which is just amazing. AMAZING. AMAZING.

I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKE THIS SHOW. I was afraid you'd be all like "ehhhh...." SO YAY. It reminds me of Robin Hood a lot, in the THIS IS CORNEY BUT I LOVE IT way. Though I think it's a bit better than Robin Hood what with the good young actors and nifty themes and actually pretty impressive CGI.

YOU MUST GIVE ME THIS FIC. OR I SHALL FIND IT. skellerbvvt did a merlin/sherlock crossover that I am plotzing over atm.
