Dr. Shaw, nice to meet you. Captain Jack Harkness.
I'm on site with the research team, so I can't sit down with you and get a briefing on how, exactly, your shield works, but if you can sit down with Toshiko, that'd be great. I don't know if you've done any tests on how the Rift reacts to shielding, or how oxygen exchange works, but if Toshiko can work with the mechanics of your shield she might be able to set up an artificial one to block anyone coming through the Rift or to temporarily seal off the air supply to the basement.
You were alive in my time, I suppose you're the friend who runs Torchwood?
I don't know how the Rift would react by I know that I can modify the amount of Oxygen let through.
I don't think I can cut off all the air supply though, there are about forty people down here and I estimate that we can cut off the air supply for a day at most before they start to suffocate, possibly less then that.
Of course I am not very familiar about the mechanics of this place, possibly it works completely differently around here.
I will try to find Miss Sato and discuss this with her.
My thinking is that there has to be air recycling systems somewhere--if the only contact the basement has with the outside world is the elevator, and that's not enough ventilation to support a structure that size.
The situation will also be helped--though not solved--by the contingent of angels; from what I understand, they inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen.

It doesn't really matter.
I'd suppose so... anyway, is there anywhere specific where I can go or anything that I can do right now?
