Shesta knocks on the door-- softly at first, and then louder when he realizes that his original attempts might have been too weak. "Doctor?" he asks. "It's me, Shesta. There was something you wanted to talk about?"

Schreber hears the first knock, but it takes him a minute to collect himself enough to remember that he asked Shesta here. "Come in."

Shesta enters, and then stares down in wonder at the paper at his feet-- hell, the paper everywhere.

He nervously fiddles with his gloves.

"Wow," he says. "What is all of this?"

Schreber looks up at him and smiles, although it looks a little forced and his eyes seem a bit harder than usual. He is glad to see Shesta, but he's still calming down from the argument with Dilandau, and he's not happy at all that he'll have to tell Shesta about it, and what he's working on here has him frustrated as well.

Plus there's the whole not-sleeping thing.

"Work," he says simply, looking around at it. "I am still trying to find a way to automate the machines in my city."
