Rusty's back.

Character Name: Dr. Thaddeus S. "Rusty" Venture
Series: The Venture Bros.
Point in canon: After the episode ORB, but before the events in the last episode of season three.
Age: 45
Appearance: Small, Rusty weighs 135 lbs and is only about 5'8". He's scrawny and bony and out of shape. He suffers from scoliosis, curvature of the spine, so he usually has horrid posture. He has scarring from when he had two kidney transplants and when he had surgery on his stomach. Oh, and from the time his arm was torn off. He's totally bald, but this is because he shaves his head. He has MPB and is capable of growing hair on the sides and back of his scalp. His hair is rust-colored, like his well kept goatee. He has at least one fake tooth and a couple fillings. His eyes are blue. His ass is his prized asset.

He's quite nearsighted, so he really needs those thick black glasses to see. His silver wrist-watch is actually a two-way communicator with a video screen. He's nearly always in a coral pink speedsuit. Always has the same four pens in his pocket of red, yellow, green, and blue. If he wears anything else it will be vintage and tacky. He has horrible fashion sense.

Character Background: Dr. Venture, super scientist and adventurer. Father to The Venture Brothers Hank and Dean. The son of the esteemed Jonas Venture. As a boy he traveled with his father as a valuable part of Team Venture going on adventures around the world. This got him his own cartoon series, The Rusty Venture Show, which made him a child star. He inherited Venture Industries after his father's death while Rusty was still in college. He's tried to live up to his father's legacy, but he's fallen short and Venture Industries became a shadow of its former self.

Most of his problems stem from his life as a boy adventurer. While Jonas Venture is regarded as a great super scientist, he was a crappy father. And so Rusty is not exactly a stellar parent, himself. His body guard Brock basically takes care of him and the boys along with the family robot H.E.L.PeR. Rusty loves his sons, but generally finds them to be annoying, embarrassing, and/or disappointing. He had them cloned as they are quite death-prone. At the age of 43 he found out he had a twin brother, who was trapped inside his own body and was originally thought to be a tumor. He also shares the Venture Compound with the Orpheus family who he rents a "lab" to.

Dr. Venture is a man of science through and through. He doesn't believe in "impossible magic," even though he has encountered paranormal phenomena. He is usually hostile toward Orpheus and his mystical ways for this reason. Dr. Venture's capabilities vary. Compared to the average person he is rather remarkable in what he's able to build and invent. Just compared to other super scientists like his brother, who surpasses him in about every way, he's a let down. He's made fun of by various people, including his family and peers, for being short-sighted, a failure, and having to ride his father's coattails. Too often he does a half-assed job of things. He can be a real idiot, but in some instances he's able to show great insight.

Typically Dr. Venture's referred to as a jerk, for good reason. He's cynical, sarcastic, selfish, and a "sass mouth." He is usually a crabby hard-ass, but he can goof around and enjoy himself at times. He just generally doesn't play well with others. But, as Dr. Girlfriend put it herself, he's not "that bad." He has his moments of kindness and compassion and can be sweet. He spared his brother's life after he'd tried to kill him, for instance. Just his scruples are below that of the average person. He's capable of remorseless inhuman acts in the name of science. Or just to get what he wants. He used a little orphan boy--well only part of it--to power a self-indulgence machine he dubbed "The Joy Can." He apparently doesn't want to be a "bad person," though, and is unaware that he's rather ethically challenged.

Despite his frailty, and lack of any real self-defense, Dr. Venture does have great testicular fortitude. He may be small, but he can be loud and defiant. When it counts he doesn't back down and usually isn't easily intimidated. Especially when he's angry. And since he's quick-tempered this is often. He is pretty easily injured, though. But he's able to take quite a beating and live to talk about it.

Rusty's a bit out of touch with current affairs and is stuck in the past. Very retro. Dr. Venture is traumatized by events that happened in his childhood and he never got over his father's death. So he became reliant on "diet pills"--amphetamines--to manage hallucinations and stress. If he gets too stressed out he'll run away to try to get away from it all. He also has to deal with super-villains trying to screw up his life. Namely The Monarch. Although, he has had to deal with more formidable foes as Monarch was more often than not just a nuisance to him who wasted his time. Dr. Venture has little respect for the idiots in costume and only looks at them in a favorable light if they can help his finances or reputation.

Sexual Orientation: Dr. Venture likes the ladies. He just has great difficulty in the "gettin' some" department. He tries too hard and usually embarrasses himself if he hits on a woman. He focuses primarily on ascetics and is rather petty. He'll lose interest in a woman who he decides has something wrong with her. Usually he fancies women who are "out of his league." Yet he doesn't lower his standards even though he hasn't had sex in nineteen years. He can be very romantic and can fall in love easily. And when he's in love he's stupider than usual.

Dr. Venture is possibly at least a tad homophobic, as he tried to find the "gay gene" and destroy it. He rather hostilely accuses Orpheus of trying to "get into his speed suit" in one instance. Shortly thereafter he then watched a porno with him. He certainly has his "gay" moments. He can act rather effeminate with Brock. He at least had mutual masturbation sessions with his friend Pete White. At the end of season three, he hits on Hunter Gathers. Hunter has big breasts and a woman's hairstyle but otherwise has gruff, manly attributes. Since Rusty has such rotten luck with women, under certain circumstances he could potentially hook up with a fella. It'd just depend. Typically he's not going to go for it, though, since he focuses so intently on the fairer sex. But he'll gladly masturbate with a guy pal and that could always lead to other things.

He apparently suffers from some erectile dysfunction. But this is "cured" by being with someone who arouses him.

Notes: Most people call him Dr. Venture. Only close friends and love interests call him Rusty.

His middle name is unknown. We just know it starts with an S.

At one point in time he turned into a wolf man and killed his sons.

Rusty bottoms for, like, everyone... Srsly.

He wears tighty whities.

He's an ass man.

If you scare him bad enough he'll lactate for you.
