I´ve been taking electromyographys the whole morning. Two of them, for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with positive Tinel and Phalen  Sometimes we should avoid patien´s pain, really, you don´t need an EMG with those two signs positive to confirm median nerve neuropatology

I´m tired of hearing: Sensei, why do you have your eyes closed?.

You know, Yanagi, I never did understand your eyes-closed thing. I gave up on figuring it out.

And I don't know what Tinel and Phalen are, but Phalen sounds like a good name for a cat.

Sure, if fact Phalen is the name the first child of an old university partner.

Both signs are part of the physical exploration when you suspect compression of median nerve.

Do you really think that my eyes are closed?

Electromyography is a test that assesses the health of the muscles and the nerves controlling the muscles. We need to know how is the electric activity of your nerves, so we insert a needle electrode through the skin into the muscle, so the electrical activity detected by this electrode is displayed on an oscilloscope, and may be heard through a speaker.

The presence, size, and shape of the wave form produced on the oscilloscope provide information about the ability of the muscle to respond when the nerves are stimulated.
