The only place he saw Eames anymore was when he was hooked up to the PASIV device and dreaming, oblivious to reality around him.
Cobb had warned him. Then again, what did Cobb know anyway? He had gone through the same thing with Mal, true, but Arthur couldn't just abandon Eames.
Dreaming was the only way for Arthur to see Eames. It was a way of living a life that he hadn’t had the opportunity to live, and it was the only way to relive life with Eames that had been far too short. Even if Eames wasn’t real in the dream, which Arthur knew, just being able to see him again and talk to a shade of him was enough to keep reality at bay, as well as the truth that gnawed at him. This was why Arthur decided he’d dream of Eames as long as he could.
