Hermione maintained her composure as she clenched her hands together.
Draco Malfoy could be - no, he couldn’t be, he was the most annoying male she’d ever encountered. She had left, knowing that in a few minutes her binding charm would wear off and eventually let Draco go. Walking through the streets, sighing a little as she gazed at a window at one of her favorite little cafés and grinned as she decided to order a warm cup of Hot Chocolate. Pulling the door open, she pulled her jacket off and hung it up on one of the hooks. Brushing the snow from her jacket and hair, Hermione glanced around as she rubbed her hands together to warm them up quickly.
“Are you lookin’ to buy a present for Harry?” Someone said behind her. Hermione turned around, the smile on her face widening as she saw Ginny walk in behind her. “Because if you are, I’m going to have to make sure mine is better.”
“Hey, Ginny.” Hermione replied, wrapping her arms around the only Weasley girl, pulling her into a tight hug. “How’ve you been?” Ginny shrugged a little and biting her lower lip, met Hermione’s questioning gaze.
“Pregnant.” She replied quietly. Hermione’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped open as she held Ginny in place by her shoulders.
“Tell me you’re joking.” She exclaimed.
“No, I’m not.” Ginny replied, trying to hide her beaming smile as she was pulled into Hermione’s tight embrace.
“Congratulations.” Hermione said softly, pulling away from the red head. “Does Harry know?” Ginny nodded as they turned and walked towards one of the tables to the side less crowded so they could talk.
“Mmmhmm, I told him last night.” Ginny kept smiling as she pulled her jacket off and set it over the chair. “He practically freaked and hugged me so tightly, and then he remembered that I am pregnant and asked me if hugging me that tightly would hurt the baby.” Both women shared a laugh as Hermione took a hold of Ginny’s hand, noticing the silver glint.
“When did he give you this?” Hermione asked, knowing that Harry was planning on proposing to Ginny, but had no clue when he would.
“Last night.” Ginny giggled, “And no, it’s not because I told him I was pregnant, he did this before I told him.” She smiled and leaning down to catch Hermione’s gaze from the ring, Ginny bit the inside of her cheek, “So, how are thing going between you and Draco?” Hermione dropped Ginny’s hand.
“What?” Hermione stared at Ginny blankly.
“Harry told me, there’s not much he keeps from me.” Ginny smiled a little and leaned her arms on the table, “He’s just worried about you, and by the way he was talking about you and Draco, it seemed like you two were pretty serious, am I right?” Hermione wrung her hands together. She was nervous and unsure of what she could say.
“Well, lets see, Draco is…”Hermione trailed off, “Well, we’re,” She paused, “We’re good.” She finally said, biting her lip she looked down. “I actually, uh, just left his apartment.” Ginny grinned, moving her eyebrows suggestively.
“Ooh, did someone have a late night?” She asked, “C’mon you can tell me. We’re friends, right?” Ginny reached out and touched Hermione’s arm affectionately. “I promise that I can keep my mouth shut better than Harry can, and I can promise you that Ron will never find out. He’s insufferable, I love him because he’s my brother and he’s my family, but that doesn’t mean I have to like him.” Hermione laughed a little, pushing her hair away from her face she looked up towards Ginny.
“Well, being honest, Draco and I fought this morning.” Hermione said softly, “It was stupid, really, but it made me think about things.” Ginny frowned.
“You’re not going to break up with him are you?” Ginny asked, biting her lip when Hermione turned to her. “Sorry, it’s just I haven’t seen you this happy since Hogwarts.” Ginny took Hermione’s hand and smiled, “I’m serious. I mean, the smile on your face just brightens the whole bloody café. You look like you could take on the world.” Hermione smiled a little. “See, that’s what I’m talking about. And hell, I say that if Draco Malfoy is putting this smile on your face then dammit you had better continue sleeping with him.”
Both couldn’t contain their laughter as they covered their mouths, trying to stay quiet so they didn’t disturb anyone around them, but it didn’t work. After a few moments, Hermione calmed down and leaned closer to Ginny.
“Well, the sex is awesome.” Hermione said, breaking their silence as both laughed so hard they were holding their sides.

If Draco had any idea that Hermione was talking to a Weasley about his sex drive, he probably would’ve cursed both of them. Thankfully, the binds that held him gave way after half an hour, apparently Hermione really did know her spells and had given him half an hour to think things over. Granted, even after all the thinking he’d done…
He still decided that he wouldn’t have told Hermione about the letter.
There were just some things that a guy was not about to show some woman and that letter was one of them. Especially when his main intention was to protect that woman, because he loved her, Draco stared out the window, his arms crossed.
He loved her.
It was something that was new to him, even though Draco had already told her that he felt that way, he still had to get used to it. And now, he had two things he had to occupy his mind. He needed to figure out who had sent the letter and what they meant by it all while he was going to have to try and seduce Hermione and make her fall in love with him and want to marry him.
Marry him.
That thought was paralyzing only because he was going to try and get Hermione to marry him. To any man, Draco was sure that it would cause mass panic or at least a brief moment of not being able to breathe, but for him, it was going against the one thing he’d always been raised to believe in.
Purebloods didn’t marry mudbloods.
It was something that had been drilled into his head since childhood. Draco knew that his entire family would probably cringe at the thought of him marrying Hermione Granger, a muggle born. A slow smirk came across Draco’s face as he turned towards the door, grabbing his coat as he walked towards it.
His family was dead.

“He what?” Ginny asked again as she held the cup of hot chocolate with both of her hands, “Are you kidding me?” Hermione shook her head.
“No, he really did tell Draco that his mother was a whore and then when Draco was about to use the Cruciatus Curse on him, I kissed him.” Hermione replied. Ginny’s brow furrowed as she set her cup down.
“Wait, you kissed Ron or you kissed Draco?” She asked. Hermione laughed a little and shook her head.
“You know who. I mean, I love Ron but the thing is, he’s just, not for me.” Hermione took a sip of her drink. Ginny scoffed and leaned back into her chair as she nodded.
“Damn right he isn’t.” Ginny rolled her eyes, “Like I said, it’s not that I don’t love the idiot but he is my brother, I have to love him. But that doesn’t mean I have to like the things that he does, and what he put you through, was wrong.” Ginny sighed. “Besides that, Susan loves him so much that he just needs a slap in the face to see it. And if she doesn’t do the slapping, I will.” Hermione giggled under her breath and smiled as she looked out towards the window.
“I never figured you’d be the one to support me with Draco, I mean, Harry doesn’t really, but you. I thought you might take the side of the big brother.” Hermione sighed a little, “It’s amazing what you tend to figure out as you get older.”
“Get older?” Ginny raised a brow, “Uh, I’d rather think about this baby growing inside of me then getting closer to my mother’s age when she had me.” She laughed a little as Hermione ran her finger along the edge of the cup.
“You ever think that something could happen between Draco and I?” Hermione asked softly. Ginny took a moment, and then nodded.
“Yeah, I do, but then again I tend to be a romantic at heart.” Ginny grinned and gave her belly a small rub over the baby that was beginning to grow inside, “What do you think?” Hermione shrugged a little, tilting her head to the side as she looked towards Ginny, giggling at Ginny’s hand being over her stomach.
“I think that there could be something.” Both women gave a soft squeal of delight as they ordered another round of hot chocolates.

Draco watched the two women in the small café talk and laugh and a small smile came across his own face. He wanted to know what they were talking about, because he had a feeling that it was about him. It was either that or Hermione was thinking about the latest edition of Hogwarts, A History. But he wasn’t going to interrupt them; he still had things that he had to do.
Turning to walk down the street, Draco glanced around and sighed a moment as noticed couples walking around all around him. Being in muggle London always brought a smirk to his face, it was interesting to see things that were done without magic. But something that kept his interest was the affection that was shared between those couples. They held hands, snuck kisses when they could without making people around them uncomfortable.
It was obvious to anyone who had ever been in love or who was in love that the couple Draco looked at right now was in love. He almost wished he could do that with Hermione. And he would, at the Weasel’s wedding.
Which was why he needed to get things done now, so that after the wedding and the reception, he could take her back to his home and prove to her that he wanted to see things go further then this fake dating.
But they had to get passed the fake dating first.
Unfortunately, the wedding was only a couple days away and he knew that she’d be worried about what was going to happen, so he wouldn’t pressure her or even bring up anything that might add more stress to her life. That was the first part about being in love, you had to know when to stand by the person you loved and you had to know when to protect them.
He’d be doing both.
That was the one thing his mother had taught him through the love she had for Lucius Malfoy. He didn’t have to love her back, but for Narcissa, becoming Mrs. Malfoy and giving Lucius a son was the best way she could’ve shown her love for him. It was after that, that she realized Lucius was becoming obsessed with returning Lord Voldemort to power. So Narcissa turned her attentions from loving Lucius and providing for him constantly, to making sure her son grew up knowing what love was and what it meant.
She also taught Draco there was more than the hatred his father was driving into his head.
“Excuse me, sir?” An elderly woman tapped Draco’s shoulder. Draco turned and looked towards the woman who gave him a soft smile, “A man asked me to give you this.” She held out a small parchment of paper and Draco gave her a small smile.
“Thank you, can you tell me what this man looked like?” He asked her. The older woman shrugged.
“I can only tell you he was a tall man. The cap and glasses he hid many of his features.” She replied, “You have a good day, young man.” Draco smiled and nodded to the woman as she walked away. Immediately, he looked around for a man wearing a hat and sunglasses that was waiting around.
Cursing when he couldn’t find him, Draco sighed and turned down to the parchment he held in his hand. Opening it, his eyes quickly glazed over as he crumpled it. Clenching his hand around the ball, he stuffed it inside of his pocket and turned to walk back into the small shopping area.
He’d tell Hermione about it when he got back home.
