this just sucks to read... I'm sorry that everything is so hard for you right now. You really aren't a failure. I promise this. I can talk to my friend Laurie and see if her mom can hook you up with a gig at WCC or something like that with their computer systems and whatnot.
otherwise, don't give up and keep hangin' on. any lesser man would have thrown in the towel by now. I'm proud of you, friend.
FWIW, I looked for 2 months and sent out well over 100 applications/resumes when I moved back to Brighton. I found an 11-hour a week position at a fish and chips shop that paid $7.50/hr.
did I mention that I had a B.S. in Earth Science at that point? no? I did. (well... I still do... $30,000 piece of toilet paper, really.)
and it took me 7, almost 8 months to find the job I have now. (I'm a retail grunt.) I make $7.35/hr.
hang in there... and in the meantime, do what you gotta do.
Dude you and your lady did a good job on our computer network. I wish I could help you find more work. Can U put up flyers around town advertizing your Mad Computer skills. I know there have to be people out there who need help. Sorry about the Job Unluck stacey who has A Batchlers Degree and two Associates degrees took almost a year to get a job that pays half of what her last job paid. Two friends of mine both with Master's Degrees have been lookng for the last 2 years for jobs.... Don't Give up. Check everywhere for jobs. Ask Friends who might know something. The security company I work for has jobs online at i think Securitasusa.com .
Sweetie, most of the die-hard LJ'ers use *this* for the things that matter, and FB is just Twitter with pictures. We do read, and we do care.
It took me 20 months to find even *1* job after I was laid off last time. Everyone is mired in debt and most of us probably won't get out intact. We all feel like failures, too. If there's a bright spot, look at it this way, at least you're young enough that you'll see the end of these times. I probably don't have that luxury. Your (or the next) generation will talk about these times like my folks used to talk about "the great depression".
I guess I can't offer any solace, or help, except to let you know that you're loved, and you're *not alone*.
