This is so sad. We know from the very beginning that she's dead, but the image of them standing beside her grave in the meadow still comes as a surprise, somehow. I like the way Scorpius is taking care of his dad, even though there's a slight friction between them, and I love the idea of the painting, only finished when -- what? -- Asteria found out she was terminally ill.

Thanks, I love how you read the story. I had to put the warning in, but I left it intentionally vague in the story itself - terminally ill is probably very accurate. And I like your thinking on Draco's relationship with Scorpius.

Again, thanks!

What a vibrant and emotional story. I loved all the tiny insights and tributes to Asteria. It's lines like this: "He keeps the darker robes in the other closet," his mother whispered. that I keep coming back to because there's depth tucked everywhere, and Scorpius making that eulogy to his mother was beautiful. Simply lovely!

Yes! I love that line, it's one of the those that I wanted to include from the start. That's why I always spoke of a 'Draco/Asteria... well, sort of' because she's not there, is she? And still, she's everywhere you look. Thank you very very much, I'm delighted you liked it! ^^

@leochi, I already told you how much I loved your picture. It's so beautiful and versatile that it inspires all manner of stories.

@silvia_elisa, what a wonderfully evocative and bitter-sweet story! It was perfectly written and perfectly paced, between present and past, creating a poignant and emotionally touching tale. There's nothing else I can find to say, except perfect. They way you weave together images and reminiscenses and emotions is just perfect.

I am definitely going to blush. Thank you! From the very beginning, there was this atmosphere that I was trying to create within the reality of this story and it feels amazing to know you felt it. Again, thanks!
