Perhaps biting off far more than we could chew, it was decided that on a mild, hopefully uncrowded weekday morning, Potter and I (and our army of helpers) would take our passel of orphans to Diagon Alley to stock up on school necessities. Maybe we ought to implement those monthly field trips we keep putting off. Wizards and witches nearly out of Hogwarts who have never even been to Diagon Alley? It's setting them up for failure to acclimate. It's our job to prepare them for the real world.

They haven't got parents at all, which is why they live at Widdleton. Do you remember when we talked about this? We're trying to give them a bit of what a normal child might enjoy with their parents, that's all.
