Translating song lyrics again

This time, it's for a programme composed of the music of John Dowland and Henry Purcell, and some of the songs are to be recited in Czech after or before they're sung in English. I find the poems absolutely beautiful. I've finished one of four, so far.

This is odd :o) It's supposed to be sung by a counter-tenor or soprano ... but I like it, in a weird sort of way. He's got a very soothing voice.

I have been a fan of Sting since he was in the Police. He's from my part of the world and still sings with a sort of Geordie accent.
