Writers think in words, artists think in pictures, mathematicians think in numbers, and so on. Just because the Muse has left them, does not make them any less who they are. You are a writer Mike, and it's ok to say so. You just need to rediscover your love for writing. You've written before, and you will write again, it's just a matter of time and inspiration. I have faith in you.
I leave you with two things this morning: 1st, a challenge- can you create a short story involving a man with a black moustache, a creaky old front porch, a fish out of water, and the sound "ka-whump!"?

No, but seriously, you're alright! You're putting too much thought into things. Just relax and do what comes natural to you. If you just relax and go with the flow then it will all come back to you.
There are three type of people. There are the average, the overachiever and the underachiever. But you, my friend, are definately in the new category of achievers that I came up with.
Presenting the slacker achiever. The slogan that I've come up for this type of achiever says it all. "It'll get done.....Eventually.
