yep. my mom has worked the polls ever since i was born, and VA hasn't gone dem since 1964.
certain parts of it have (richmond, fairfax), and it was a lot less certain this year, but we were still (sadly) pretty solidly bush.

incidentally, there are 3500 registered voters at my mom's polling place, and they usually sit right on the national average for voter turnout.
when i talked to her at 2pm today, she said they'd had lines around the building since 6am and were expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of a 75% turnout.

Yea I was surprised at the amount of kerry suporters in Richmond(being from chester and all) and on CNN theres lill richmond in blue and everyone else in red. But Im happy. The dems had their 8 years, now we have our 8 years. Then in 2008, probably a dem will come in. Just to even things out.
