i don't quite grok the intellectual one, but I think I like the spirit behind it. :)

I find it interesting how _____-centric the winter/summer quote is. With the traditions and experiences Camus is speaking from, it's certainly true that winter is a hardship and summer is relief from it, but that imagery does not hold true for all people and all places.

This one reminded me of some conversations we've had:

"Idleness is fatal only to the mediocre."

The weather one certainly isn't region specific, if the replies to this entry are any indication, but I get that it is "something"-centric and is definitely not universally applicable as-is.

What didn't you grok about the intellectual one?

"In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer."
(I would alter this for myself to: "In the depth of summer, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible winter." with a similar meaning, I think.)

Ooooh, I like this one.
Also if I ever become a superhero I think Invincible Autumn would make a pretty cool name.
