Wow, I haven't been on in a while because school and work and stuff. I am just busier than ever. I hate it. I would like a little free time to just relax!!!
the remake of the omen was...meh. it was pretty and well acted but trying much too hard to be a faithful remake of the original and so didn't do anything that the original hadn't done already. some of the deaths were a little different (notably jennings', as i was really expecting the plate glass) but other than that, there were no changes. it felt very flat and not at all scary. (well, other than mia farrow. but then, mia farrow pretty much always scares me - that woman is hella freaky, somehow.)
also, well...i may be biased, but i'd take patrick troughton and david warner over pete postlethwaite and david thewlis any day. (actors at least tangentially related to doctor who win every time.)
duder. I went to see Ultraviolet like...a month or two ago & I counted this. she killed.. 127 people [827 if you count the 700 man army] & saved one. ONE! jesus christ. I didnt like that movie very much....
(lol) As I said, it was just okay. But, in Kill Bill she kills a lot of people too...maybe even more. But, that is suppose to be funny. PLus, Quentin Tarantino can do whatever he wants and get away with it because he is just that cool.
Don't feel bad about the opera thing. The only singers I could name off the top of my head are Luciano Pavarotti, Enrico Caruso, and Maria Callas, and only because they're so famous. I just never had an opportunity to get into it, although one of my nephews got hooked on it and listens to opera all the time. I'm more of a Bob Fosse musical kind of guy when it comes to music on "the stage."
I've been wondering about Ultraviolet for a while now. Some people swear it sucks, some swear its awesome. Usually in that situation one group or another has people whose movie tastes I respect, in this case however they fall into both camps. I guess its a burn candidate for me.
For me tho, it'll be hard for Mila to beat the Fifth Element. Loved her in there. Although her most beautiful I find was her bit role in Kuffs very early on in her career.
I loved Underworld, I mean its not awesome in the strict movie sense, but I enjoyed watching it, which is pretty much all I want out of a movie. I have to go find Underworld Evolution now to follow it up.
Omen is a movie I've been wanting on dvd...not the remake, I won't bother with that...the original.
Yeah, I want to see the remake...just to see how much it sucks. (lol) A horror movie that would really get horror fans mad with a remake and that I think should never be remade would have to be the Exorcist. Who would even dare!!! ?
