I don't like the taste and texture of it. Also, if it's dyed with cheap food dye then the chemical taste of the dye comes through way too strong. Though fondant is very good for making a good looking cake with smooth surfaces. I love buttercream frosting, but that one's very hard to make perfect looking.

I'm guessing you're asking for the wedding cake? If the rest of the cake is good, people can just peel off the fondant and not eat it ;)
