I don't know how things are around the US or in other countries, but in Florida drag kings and male impersonators are kept at the bottom of the pile ( Read more... )

I don't know about *groups* in general... but in Seattle, I've had little gigs that were, more or less, for tips (given to me personally) and part of the door. As far as I know, things were split up pretty evenly.

DragQueens are center part of the gaymale culture & they have been there since the beginning of it. They almost run the clubs and parties. Dragkings in the lesbian scene of Fl on the other hand are still fighting to be a part after the fact & in spite of how the lesbian scene is represented ( ... )

Hey there , From Volusia deland area here

Yeah even just Crossdressing for cons, though i'm trying to get into kinging, I get downplayed. I think its just that people are so used to seeing people who don't go all out in the drag department. Bad binding, sharpied facial hair, ect. And they associate that with all Kings those associated with them.

It's hard for me to even find a group to king with ( I'm in college so its mostly summer) or people even willing to do drag with me.
